1. Overview

Y201-L is the LoRa model in the Y201 mini DTU family, designed for low-power, long-range serial wireless transmission. It operates in the 410 to 493 MHz band and supports point-to-point LoRa communication, providing bidirectional transparent transmission between a serial port and a LoRa link.

It is suitable for power systems, transportation, fire protection, industrial production, meteorology, agriculture, mining, and property management, especially where short-distance wired serial links need to be replaced.

Y201-L Dimensions

ParameterSpecification
Dimensions74.6 x 22.6 x 16 mm, excluding tabs, antenna connector, and terminal
MountingSide-tab mounting or cabinet internal fixing, depending on project structure

Installation recommendations:

  • Add proper upstream protection on the power input, such as fuse and surge suppression.
  • Keep the antenna away from high-current wiring to avoid near-field interference.
  • Keep serial cables short and make sure the ground reference is consistent.
  • In outdoor or high-interference environments, use shielding and reliable grounding.

7. Application Notes

  • Broadcast transparent transmission: Build point-to-point or point-to-multipoint LoRa links quickly when both ends share the same frequency and speed settings.
  • Fixed-point communication: Use target address and channel for directional forwarding in multi-node networks.
  • Master-slave communication: The master sends framed data and the slave can return data transparently, with retransmission support.
  • Relay networking: Use relay enable, group ID, and routing rules for multi-hop forwarding and longer coverage.

For AT commands, communication mode details, and configuration examples, see the Y201-L Technical Manual.
