1. Overview

Y208-R is Yanji’s highest-density Ethernet DTU, integrating eight independent serial channels that can each operate as RS232 or RS485. Dual RJ45 uplinks (LAN1/LAN2) provide redundant IP paths or split networks, while per-port Socket A/B contexts support simultaneous TCP/UDP/HTTP/MQTT sessions. The platform inherits the same firmware stack as Y202-R/Y204-R, enabling Modbus RTU ↔ TCP conversion, JSON uploaders, heartbeats, and browser management for large power grids, factory cells, or environmental telemetry clusters.

Installation guidance:

  • Maintain ≥25 mm clearance above/below for airflow and cable bend radius.
  • Ground DIN rail to PE when RS485 trunks exceed 50 m.
  • Label COM blocks to avoid miswiring during maintenance swap-outs.

7. Application Notes

  • Substation Node Concentrator – Map each port to a feeder, use LAN1 for SCADA (TCP Server) and LAN2 for cloud telemetry (MQTT). Registration packets embed feeder ID for quick identification.
  • Manufacturing Gateway Farm – COM1–COM4 serve robots/PLCs via RS232, COM5–COM8 feed sensor buses via RS485; NET heartbeats ensure server awareness, while JSON scheduler pushes aggregated values upstream.
  • Redundant Control Rooms – Socket A on every port targets Control Room A, Socket B targets Control Room B. In case of LAN1 outage, LAN2 maintains connectivity through DHCP failover.
