1. Overview

Y201-G is the MiniLink Series 4G LTE member of the Y201 mini DTU family. It targets cabinets and edge panels that need cellular backhaul without changing existing RS485/RS232 wiring, delivering Cat1 LTE connectivity, SIM lifecycle management, and remote diagnostics inside a palm-sized DTU. With built-in TCP/UDP/HTTP/MQTT channels, MiniLink Y201-G moves factory, power, and environmental telemetry to cloud platforms even in harsh, power-constrained cabinets.

Installation guidance:

  • Maintain ≥10 mm clearance above/below when mounted beside power supplies.
  • Use shielded twisted pair for RS485 and keep serial cable < 30 m without repeaters.
  • Add 1 A inline fuse near the power source.

7. Application Notes

  • SCADA/PLC Bridging: Map legacy Modbus-RTU sensors to cloud networks without rewriting PLC logic by leveraging the built-in Modbus polling plus JSON uplink.
  • Building & Energy: Combine RS485 power meters or HVAC controllers with BMS platforms using simultaneous TCP + MQTT sockets for redundancy over LTE.
  • OEM Remote Service: Pair the remote AT + heartbeat functions with a central service to push firmware updates and monitor edge device health even when wired networks are unavailable.
