6. Input Wiring
6.1 Current Input (4-20mA)
Connection Method:
- Connect transmitter positive (+) to AI+ terminal
- Connect transmitter negative (-) to AI- terminal
- Ensure transmitter is powered appropriately
- Configure channel for current mode via software

- Pressure transmitters

- pH sensors with current output
Wiring Notes:
- Use shielded twisted pair cable for long distances
- Keep signal cables away from power cables
- Maximum loop resistance: 500Ω

6.2 Voltage Input (0-10V)
Connection Method:
- Connect sensor positive output to AI+ terminal
- Connect sensor negative output to AI- terminal
- Configure channel for voltage mode via software

7. Communication Wiring
7.1 RS485 Cascade Wiring
Wiring Method:
- Connect all A terminals together (daisy chain)
- Connect all B terminals together (daisy chain)
- Connect all GND terminals together
- Add 120Ω termination resistors at both ends of the bus
- Use shielded twisted pair cable
- Maximum 32 devices on one RS485 bus
- Maximum cable length: 1200m @ 9600 bps
Best Practices:
- Use high-quality shielded twisted pair cable (e.g., Belden 9841)
- Maintain proper cable impedance (120Ω characteristic impedance)
- Avoid star or tree topologies; use linear daisy-chain only
- Keep stub lengths as short as possible (<1m)
- Ensure proper grounding at one point only

8.3 Communication Testing
Testing Steps:
- Select the device's current serial port
- Select default baud rate 9600
- Enter device address (default: 1, or use broadcast address 254)
- Open port
- Click "Read AI" to read analog input values
- If values are displayed correctly, communication is successful

9. Parameter and Working Mode Configuration
9.1 Device Address
9.1.1 Device Address Introduction
- DAM series device default address is 1
- Broadcast address 254 can be used for communication
- Address 0 cannot be used for communication
- Effective Device Address = Offset Address
9.1.2 Reading Device Address
After normal communication, enter initial device address as 254, then click "Configuration Parameters" in the software to read the current device address.
9.1.3 Setting and Reading Offset Address
Click "Read" or "Set" next to the offset address in the JYDAM debugging software to read or set the device's offset address.
9.2 Baud Rate Reading and Setting
Click "Read" and "Set" in the baud rate setting bar to read and set the baud rate. After operation, restart the device and modify the computer serial port settings.
Supported Baud Rates:
- 2400 bps
- 4800 bps
- 9600 bps (default)
- 19200 bps
- 38400 bps
9.3 Channel Configuration
Input Type Configuration: Each channel can be independently configured for:
- Current input (4-20mA)
- Voltage input (0-10V)
Scaling Configuration:
- Set engineering unit range (e.g., 0-100°C for temperature)
- Configure decimal places
- Set display units
Calibration:
- Zero calibration: Apply 4mA or 0V and calibrate
- Span calibration: Apply 20mA or 10V and calibrate

11. FAQ and Solutions
11.1 RS232 Communication - Device Not Responding
Solution:
Device and host communication uses RS232 straight-through cable:
- RX to RX
- TX to TX
- GND to GND
11.2 Analog Input Reading Zero or Very Low
Troubleshooting:
- Check sensor wiring connections
- Verify sensor power supply
- Check if channel is configured for correct input type (4-20mA vs 0-10V)
- Test sensor output with multimeter
- Verify sensor is functioning properly
- Check for broken wires or poor connections
11.3 Analog Input Reading Maximum or Very High
Troubleshooting:
- Check for short circuits in wiring
- Verify input type configuration matches sensor output
- Check sensor output range
- Verify proper grounding
- Check for electromagnetic interference
11.4 Unstable or Noisy Readings
Troubleshooting:
- Use shielded cable for all analog inputs
- Keep analog signal cables away from power cables
- Verify proper grounding (single-point ground)
- Check for loose connections
- Add filtering in software if necessary
- Check sensor power supply stability
- Verify proper cable termination
11.5 Multiple Devices on RS485 Bus
Important Notes:
- Each device address must be unique
- Cannot use broadcast address 254 when multiple devices are on the bus
- Broadcast address can only be used when there is only one device on the bus
- When more than 1 device exists, use unique addresses for each device
- Add 120Ω termination resistors at both ends of the bus
